So let's talk about selling a home at this time. KCRAR, the governing body for local real estate professionals, has restricted listing homes for sale except in essential situations, such as a job move, family member moving in/out, divorce, death in the family and others. We are not to be actively looking for homes to sell.....but, if you need to sell your home, as it is essential, then we can certainly help with that. We can't hold open houses, but we will take great photos as well as narrated videos for potential buyers. All necessary health precautions will, of course, be observed: wear gloves, booties, face mask, and no excessive touching of anything. If a buyer, after looking at the photos and video, gets excited about your home, then an in person visit will be necessary with only the buying party: no relatives, children, dogs, etc may visit the home. Yes, there are a few more steps at this time in the home selling process, but it will enhance the safety issues, and you will get qualified, excited people to view your home.

Just a quick update about the real estate market in the world's conditions. You may already know, but us real estate professionals cannot have open houses or personal showings. If you are interested in a home, the seller's agent will provide a thorough video or perhaps some great pictures of the home. If you, as a buyer, are interested in the home, we will go to the home using all the necessary precautions, and conduct a personal walk through, all the while describing the home as well as answering questions from the buyer. If the buyer is interested in the home, then the concerned parties/buyer can do a physical walk through, again using all the necessary precautions, to decide if that home is for you. Yes, these are some extra steps, but necessary steps, during the covid-19 pandemic. We all must be as cautious as possible. So the bottom line, that , yes, homes can be purchased, it just takes a few extra steps. Tomorrow I will talk about selling a home in this market.

It was a great way to start the day on St Patrick's Day with O'Willemsen. Run a
few miles with some leprechauns, drink some green beer, enjoy the beautiful spring day with the dazzling blue sky.....I would recommend it. The 4 mile run started and ended at Kelly's Bar in Westport, very appropriate for the event.
