Grissom Miller Law Firm is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our team. This position is available on either a part-time or full-time basis, depending on the candidate’s availability.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is preferred. Prior experience in Workers’ Compensation, Labor and Employment Law, Litigation, or Personal Injury is highly desirable.

Responsibilities may include case management, client communication, document preparation, and support for attorneys throughout all stages of legal proceedings.

“The one thing I believe that it highlights is that it took a former U.S. Attorney, it took a mother, it took advocates, and it took the Governor of Kansas to get someone released,” Grissom says. “So the real question is: How many folks are still out there who don’t have those kinds of resources to turn to, or aren’t aware that those resources are there to turn to, who are still incarcerated?”

After being incarcerated on ma*****na charges in 2022, Deshaun Durham is now using his freedom to advocate for individuals like himself.

Today, working with the Last Prisoner Project, we were able to secure the release of a first time cannabis offender from prison. Thank you Governor Kelly for your bravery and wisdom to give this young man a second chance.

A 24-year-old Kansas man got to walk out of prison as a free man on Friday morning when he was initially sentenced to be there until about 2030.
