Whether you have been charged with a crime, want to restore your drivers license, want to have your criminal record cleared, or have been cited for a traffic ticket, attorney Cody Crane is here to help. Throughout his 12 years as a licensed attorney, including 5 years as a court-appointed attorney, he has represented hundreds of individuals who have faced difficult times when being faced with crim
inal allegations and/or criminal charges. In addition, Attorney Crane has had the privilege of helping clients clean up their criminal records through the expungement hearing process, including many who are now eligible under Michigan’s Clean Slate Law. This new law has allowed many individuals who might not have been eligible in the past the opportunity to now have their records expunged, including those who have one prior drunk driving conviction on their record, as well as other driving offenses. Cody also has extensive experience in helping individuals restore their driver’s license when dealing with a revocation of driving privileges imposed by the Secretary of State, usually as a result of two or more prior convictions for alcohol or controlled substance-related driving offenses. Cody also helped those who have been cited with a civil infraction traffic ticket, including for individuals who have a standard Michigan operator’s license or a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), both of which can significantly affect one’s license, as well as their insurance premiums. Outside of the courtroom, Cody has been involved with numerous groups and events in the Kalamazoo Community. This includes coaching Kalamazoo Central High School’s Mock Trial Team for 5 years, where he was fortunate enough to help coach teams that won 4 straight state championships from 2016-2019. They also placed top 5 twice at Nationals, including finishing 2nd overall in the entire United States in 2017. Cody also has had the privilege of previously sitting on the Board of Directors for Kalamazoo County’s Bar Association, where he served 6 for years. He also was fortunate enough to serve as Secretary, Vice President, and eventually President of Kalamazoo County’s Trial Lawyers Association. Cody is a member of Michigan’s Bar Association as well. More than anything in the world, Cody loves being an uncle to his three young nephews, as well as his two nieces, in addition to being a “dog dad” to his longtime rescue, Sydney. He is a proud University of Michigan alum, and an avid sports fanatic, specifically his Wolverines, Detroit Lions/Tigers/Pistons/Red Wings.
