Notarization in Michigan: What ID is Acceptable? 🖋️

When you need a document notarized in Michigan, it's essential to bring the right identification. Notaries are required to verify your identity before performing any notarial acts. Here's a list of acceptable forms of ID for notarization in Michigan:

✔️ State-Issued Driver’s License (from any U.S. state)
✔️ State-Issued ID Card (from any U.S. state)
✔️ U.S. Passport
✔️ U.S. Military ID (with photo)
✔️ Foreign Passport (if valid in the U.S. and has a photo)
✔️ Government-issued ID (with photo and signature)

⚠️ Important Notes:

Your ID must be current and not expired.

If you don’t have a traditional photo ID, you may need to bring additional supporting documents or use a credible witness.

Make sure you have one of these valid IDs ready to ensure your notarization goes smoothly! If you’re unsure about the type of ID needed or have questions, don’t hesitate to ask your notary ahead of time. 😊
