Shout out to the men and women in blue. Set up for surveillance on one of my cases very early this morning. Upon my arrival, I do what I usually do and that is contact the local police department to advise them of my presence in the general area without giving them an exact address of who I am watching.
After I give them all of my information and vehicle info, I ask for their operator ID number and then tell them to have a good day.
Usually a department will dispatch that information to all its officers on patrol and sometimes as a courtesy, those officers will even stay clear of that area unless they are needed or get calls for service.
A good friend of mine who is a police officer in this town heard my info over the air and ended up coming to where I was and delivering me breakfast and coffee. When I saw him pull up and after he approached me, I asked him if he was working and he said yes. I then asked him why wasn’t he in his squad car and he replied with letting me know that he didn’t want to bring attention to me, so he stopped off and picked up one of the police undercover/unmarked vehicles.
This friend of mine did all that just to bring me food and coffee. When I asked him why he’s bringing me this healthy stuff to eat and asked where the chocolate croissant that I like to eat was, he reminded me of the fact that I lost 71 pounds and that I need to stay healthy.
Now that’s a good friend! Sometimes it’s a little gestures in life that make you realize how lucky you are to have certain people in your life.
Hope each and every one of you reading this have a great day today.
