Bring an Estate Planning or Elder Law Workshop to Your Group This Fall.

Our workshops aren’t sales presentations. They are educational conversations designed to provide clear, practical information about estate planning, elder law, and planning for life’s changes.

Ayres Presser Elder Law is now scheduling fall workshops for:

Employers and businesses
Community and social groups
Churches and other organizations

If your group would benefit from an informative elder law presentation, we would be happy to discuss possible topics and scheduling.

Honoring the Retirement of Attorney Timothy M. Ayres

After more than four decades of practicing law, Attorney Timothy M. Ayres is beginning a well-earned new chapter: retirement.

Since 1982, Tim has dedicated his career to serving individuals and families throughout Johnstown and the surrounding communities. Over the years, he has guided generations of clients through some of life’s most important—and often most difficult—decisions.

Tim’s career cannot be measured only by the documents he prepared, the legal matters he resolved, or the professional positions he held. His true legacy is found in the families he helped and the way he made people feel: heard, respected, reassured, and genuinely cared for.

A recent note from a grateful client expressed it beautifully:
“Thank you for decades of championing families through your devoted law practice and the many hours you sacrificially gave to your grateful clients. You have been at the helm with such divine patience, graciously navigating the numerous incidents that would pop up throughout this past year.”

Those words reflect the qualities Tim has brought to his work throughout his career: devotion, patience, grace, compassion, and a sincere commitment to the people who placed their trust in him.

Those of us fortunate enough to work alongside Tim know that these qualities extend far beyond his work as an attorney. He has been a trusted colleague, a mentor, a friend, and an example of what it means to serve others with integrity and heart.
The values Tim brought to his work shaped Ayres Presser Elder Law and will remain an important part of who we are. His compassion for older adults, his commitment to families, and his belief in treating every person with dignity have created a legacy that will continue for many years to come.

Although it is difficult to imagine the office without him, we are deeply grateful for everything Tim has given to his clients, the firm, and our community. We wish him many wonderful days ahead filled with family, grandchildren, golf, good books on the porch, historical conversations, and all the things he enjoys most.

Please join all of us at Ayres Presser Elder Law in congratulating Attorney Timothy M. Ayres on his retirement and thanking him for more than 40 years of extraordinary service.

Congratulations, Tim. Your influence will always be part of this firm, and you will always be part of our family.

With our deepest gratitude and warmest wishes,
Lauren, Christiana, Marianne, Lori S., Cindy, Karen, Lisa, Kaitlyn, Lori N., Kira, Amy, and Rachel

What a beautiful evening at W**e & Wills at The Willow! 🍷

Last week we gathered old and new friends for a relaxing night of w**e and honest conversations about protecting the people and things that matter most. Beautiful views, better company — turns out estate planning pairs surprisingly well with a good glass of Cabernet.

It was such an enjoyable and informative evening, and we loved getting to connect with so many of you. Be sure to keep an eye out for future events — we'd love to see you there!

The Most Important Form You Don’t Remember Filling Out

A beneficiary designation may take only a few minutes to complete, but the decision written on it can last for decades.

This month, take a few minutes to identify your accounts and policies that may have beneficiary designations. Review accounts and policies that may name a beneficiary, including:

• Retirement accounts from current and former employers
• Individual retirement accounts
• Life insurance policies and annuities
• Bank and investment accounts
• Health savings accounts
• Pension or survivor benefits

Contact the employer, insurance company, or financial institution responsible for each account. Confirm who is currently listed, then consider whether those choices still reflect your family, your wishes, and the rest of your estate plan.

If tracking everything down feels overwhelming, a financial advisor can help you identify your accounts and ensure your beneficiary designations work together.

Summer isn’t over yet—but fall will be here before we know it!

🎉 Celebrating our very first intern, Noah Bowden! 🎉

Despite what the cake might suggest, we were truly sad to see Noah go! 😂 During his time with us, Noah led our digitization efforts and played an important role in moving our office toward a more efficient, organized future. His hard work, initiative, and positive attitude made a lasting impact on our entire team.

Noah is currently a senior at Mount Aloysius College and will graduate in December with a degree in criminology. We’re incredibly proud of all he accomplished with us—and we can’t wait to see where his talents take him next!

Thank you for everything, Noah. You may have been our first intern, but you’ve set the bar very high! 🎓👏
