New Tennessee Law: Organized Retail Crime

Tennessee is strengthening its laws against organized retail theft. The new law targets coordinated retail theft schemes and expands the types of conduct that can result in criminal charges.

It also creates tougher penalties for offenders who commit retail theft while carrying a firearm, ammunition, or certain firearm accessories—including a mandatory minimum of 30 days in jail in some cases.
