A festival hazard can disappear within hours. 📸 Spills get cleaned, cables get moved, booths come down, and temporary flooring is removed. If you are hurt in a fall, evidence from the scene may become critical very quickly.

Photograph the exact hazard, then capture wider views showing nearby booths, lighting, barriers, and warning signs. Get witness contact information, report the incident, and save tickets, receipts, clothing, and shoes. 🧾 These details can help show what happened and who controlled the area.

Deadlines matter too. New Jersey personal injury lawsuits are generally subject to a two year statute of limitations. If a public entity or employee may be involved, a notice of claim can generally be required within 90 days. ⏰

Responsibility may fall on a property owner, organizer, vendor, contractor, maintenance company, or public entity. Freeman Law Center, LLC helps injured people in Jersey City evaluate who controlled the location and what evidence may matter. ⚖️

A new school year does not automatically change a New Jersey child support order. 📚 Even a large back to school shopping bill, by itself, may not justify changing the amount you pay or receive.

A modification may be worth reviewing when circumstances have changed in a substantial and continuing way. That can include a significant income change, new work related childcare, increased health insurance costs, or a lasting change in parenting time. ⚖️

Timing matters. New Jersey generally limits retroactive modification to the period when a modification application is pending, subject to limited statutory exceptions. Your existing order remains enforceable until the court approves a change. Do not reduce, withhold, increase, or offset payments on your own. ⏰

Before filing, gather records showing what changed and when. Pay stubs, tax returns, childcare invoices, medical bills, insurance statements, and an accurate calendar of overnights can help document the circumstances. Parents should also check their current order for reimbursement deadlines, expense sharing percentages, and consent requirements. 📋

A shared residency arrangement can put parenting time at the center of a divorce and child custody discussion. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

The key issue is how custody and parenting arrangements will work after the parents separate. Shared residence is one possible arrangement families may need to consider when addressing custody, schedules, and each parent’s role in a child’s life. ⚖️

Freeman Law Center, LLC handles divorce and child custody matters for families in Jersey City and throughout New Jersey. Our team can help parents understand the legal process and the custody issues that may need to be addressed based on their circumstances. 📋

Custody decisions can affect where a child spends time, how parents coordinate responsibilities, and what arrangements become part of the family’s post divorce routine. Because every family is different, parents should understand what a proposed shared residency arrangement actually means before agreeing to terms. 🏠

Have questions about shared residency during a divorce? Tell us what part of a custody arrangement you are trying to understand, or contact our team to discuss your situation.

Transferring property during divorce may be tax-free initially, but future sales can trigger significant capital gains liabilities. Understanding cost-basis rules and IRS exclusions helps protect your post-divorce financial stability.

Dividing assets fairly in a divorce means looking beyond their current values and asking whether they'll create tax liabilities — or tax breaks — in the future.

A Labor Day crash can leave key evidence disappearing before the holiday weekend is even over. 📸 Surveillance footage may be overwritten, rental vehicles returned, and damaged cars moved or repaired before anyone investigates what happened.

Start with safety and medical care, then document the collision carefully. Photograph vehicle damage, road conditions, traffic signs, visible injuries, and nearby cameras. Save witness information, towing records, travel receipts, dash camera footage, and insurer correspondence. 🚗

Deadlines matter too. New Jersey generally applies a two year filing period to personal injury actions, while claims involving a public entity or employee may require a formal notice of claim within 90 days. ⏰ Those timelines can depend on the facts, so they should not be assumed to apply identically in every case.

Freeman Law Center, LLC helps injured people review coverage, preserve evidence, communicate with insurers, and document losses after crashes in Jersey City. Avoid debating fault, posting crash details on social media, or signing releases you do not understand. ⚖️

Child support that once matched your family’s circumstances may no longer reflect what is happening today. 💵 A change in finances or family circumstances can raise an important question about whether the current support arrangement should be revisited.

The first step is identifying what has changed since the existing child support order was entered. Keep records that clearly document the circumstances behind your concern. 📄 Do not assume that a change automatically alters what is required under the current order.

Child support issues often arise alongside divorce and child custody matters. Freeman Law Center, LLC assists families with family law matters in Jersey City and throughout New Jersey when questions about existing arrangements arise.

Until an order is formally changed, treating the existing obligation as though it no longer applies can create additional problems. ⚖️ The specific facts and existing court order matter, so understanding the proper legal process is important before deciding what action to take.

Our team can help you discuss the circumstances affecting your current arrangement and better understand the available process. Has something changed that makes your existing child support order difficult or no longer appropriate? Contact us directly to discuss your questions.
