If you owe tax when you file your 2024 return, you will be charged interest and the failure to pay penalty from 4/15/2025 until IRS gets your money. Gather your information and get your return filed as soon as possible.

I hope you filed your return or extension and paid everything you owed for 2024. We had a great year and still have a lot to do. I just finished my 46th April 15th deadline as a preparer!!! Thank you to my three sons and three wonderful ladies in the office 😍😍

It is time to think about your income tax extension. If you can’t file by April 15th, be sure you or your preparer files an extension. If you think you will owe, send in money with the extension. The delinquency penalty for not filing an extension can be 25% of the amount due. The extension does not extend the time to pay. 2024 income tax is due April 15, 2025. Even if you file an extension, if you owe when you file the return, you will owe interest and the failure to pay penalty from 4/15/2025 until IRS receives your payment. Penalties and interest accumulate fast!

It is tax time. College football and Super Bowl are over. Bad weather is here. You are stuck in the house watching basketball or golf. Get everything together and to your CPA as soon as possible. You should have almost everything by now. Don’t be the client that comes in at the last minute and expects their return to be finished by the deadline!!!!!

Watch your mail. It is time for your 2024 W2s and Forms 1099 to be mailed to you. Be sure to get them all together and get them to your preparer only after you have received everything. The sooner the better!
