My friend Shelley Glass started this non-profit to support cancer victims in Jefferson County. Every year we put on this outing to support the cause in her memory. I am a member of the Wisconsin State Bar and the board of directors for the Wisconsin Association for Justice (a statewide trial lawyers group). Both groups mentioned previously have released statements regarding the Black Lives Matter movement. As a lawyer, I recognize my importance in the justice system, especially pertaining to this matter.

A statement released by the Wisconsin Association for Justice mentions the following, “As the largest statewide voluntary bar association, we cannot remain silent when Black men and women are harassed, attacked, killed, and then forgotten. We have lost too many Black lives to misconduct and systemic racism. We stand with our Black members and colleagues and all who confront discrimination to speak with one voice for justice, equality, and inclusion. We are with you.”

I am behind the cause and support all members of the Black Community. In another statement prepared by the Wisconsin State Bar they mention some similar concepts stating, “‘Equal Justice Under Law’ is engraved on the U.S. Supreme Court building. We hear ‘equal justice’ but continue to see unequal justice, justice denied. Aspirational pronouncements mean nothing without collective efforts to achieve them.”

I have represented equal rights cases for over 30 years and have no plans of sitting back and doing nothing. I represent people of many protected categories, such as: age, gender, race, religion, and physical or mental condition. I can guarantee I will stand by you through it all.

"In a landmark ruling, the Supreme Court found that a 1964 civil rights law protects L.G.B.T. workers from discrimination."

The court said the language of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits s*x discrimination, applies to discrimination based on s*xual orientation and gender identity.
