Shoutout to one of our "Day In The Life Of" panelists - Capt. Tyler Patrick - for joining us Tuesday for our Annual Noon In June event and capturing these great photos from the discussion.

Capt. Patrick and Co. walked through what a normal day in each of their lives looks like - but as we all know, in the fast-paced legal profession, there aren't many "normal" days ... ever!

Capt. Patrick is a Harvard Law grad and former military prosecutor, so he had an interesting background and story!

Thanks for sharing your insights, sir! 🫡

📣 SIGN UP TO JOIN YLS / JBA SERVICE PROJECT: Three Grains of Rice Missions

Here is a great chance coming up in mid-June to give back, Jax legal community!

Three Grains of Rice - which provides a multitude of services for those in need in our community (including a food pantry, nutritional education, programming for children, etc.) - needs help providing lawn care services for elderly Jacksonville residents, particularly those who have received complaints or warnings from the City of Jacksonville for failure to upkeep their lawns.

And on Saturday, June 13, from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., we are going to help do just that!

Yard supplies and water will be provided, but please plan to bring your own hydration as well. In the event of rain or high temperatures, the backup plan will be to perform work inside at the headquarters (the charity also runs a food pantry and other services). Children are welcome to attend, too!

Please register for one or both of those days for the service project at the link here: https://www.jaxbar.org/events/EventDetails.aspx?id=2064056&group=

The Jacksonville legal community showed up in a BIG way last week at BestBet Jax for our new-look YLS Charity Poker Tournament.

Usually held in the Fall, we moved it to Spring and this time went "All in Against Childhood Hunger" to help raise money for Hunger Fight-Jacksonville.

Many local children in our own backyards go hungry every day, both physically and mentally. Hunger Fight works to end hunger and illiteracy for local children by giving them meals and books that keep them well-fed and well-read!

We had a great field of players and sponsors once again, and we can't wait to announce this year's donation total to Hunger Fight!

And we even had a little history made during our 2026 event.

Local attorney Chris Bua of Bua Settlements not only won, he won for the SECOND straight year - marking our first-ever back-to-back champ in the decade-long history of this event.

Congrats, Chris!

Thanks again to everyone who came out, sponsor or contributed in some way to help make this charity tournament another success. And shoutout to BestBet for always being amazing hosts!

Great work by our YLS members who helped out with the latest gathering of the Jean Ribault High School Future Lawyers Program.

This program was for meeting with existing participants in the Ribault Future Lawyers program, which pairs attorneys with students at Ribault High School in a yearlong mentorship program.

Props to all of our young lawyers leaders who are heavily involved in this program and donate their time to help it flourish year after year!

Registration for new entrants into the program opens this summer, so if you know a student who is interested in joining, keep an eye out for updates here on the YLS social media!
