Just got the attorney fee order in the case of Hoie v. Lee. The Respondent (mom) owes my client just shy of $100,000 in fees and expenses for her shenanigans in abducting their daughter from Norway.
In the order, Chief Judge Tydingco-Gatewood noted that this was the first (and only) case that has ever been filed in Guam under The Hague Convention and the International Child Abduction Remedies Act. She noted that no attorney in the Guam Bar had ever handled, much less taken to trial, a Hague case, thereby necessitating off-island counsel (me).
Got the order on June 30 Florida time, while it’s dated July 1 (Guam time). 😊
