PCS season is just around the corner and if you’re moving to or leaving LRAFB, don’t freak out, we’ve got you covered! Here are some awesome tips to make your move less crazy:

1. Start Early: Create a super-organized binder with orders, receipts, medical/school records, and checklists, because adulting.
2. Use Resources: Schedule your move through DPS, and don’t forget to use Military OneSource and your base’s transportation office – they’re like superheroes for your move.
3. Know Your Options: Choose between government move, PPM (do-it-yourself, aka sweat and tears), or a combo – because who doesn’t love options?
4. Declutter: Get rid of all that junk you’ve been hoarding, and lighten your load to save time, space, and money – your wallet will thank you.
5. Label Boxes: Use color codes or numbers by room for easier unpacking, because who doesn’t love a good puzzle?
6. First Night Box: Pack essentials – clothes, toiletries, bedding, chargers, etc. – so you don’t have to live like a college freshman.
7. Photograph Valuables: For insurance and easier setup, because you never know when you might need to prove your grandma’s vase is really that ugly.
8. Hand-Carry Important Items: Keep documents, meds, and valuables with you, because losing them would be a real bummer.
9. Expect Delays: Stay flexible and patient, because, let’s face it, moves are never easy.
10. Connect Early: Join local spouse groups and base pages for tips and support, because adulting is hard, and we all need a little help from our friends.
