Meet Cori...

Cori Guilliams is the Office Manager at Fernandez Trial Lawyers. She grew up in Miami, has extensive experience with corporate management, accounting, Human Resources, employee relations, and performance management. As a young adult, she moved to California, helped raise a family, traveled, and had beautiful adventures. Three years ago, she returned to Florida to be closer to family, the beach, and to pursue a healthy lifestyle. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, family time, gardening, traveling, and exercising.

Meet MICHELE MOSS

Michele G. Moss received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 2003. She is admitted to the United States Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, as well as, all State and Federal Courts in Florida. In addition, Ms. Moss has been recognized as a Florida “Rising Star”, by Florida Super Lawyers, since 2010-2011, and she has been a featured speaker at the Defense Research Institute (DRI) in the past. Michele has been in practice for over 20 years and has extensive experience in civil trial and litigation in the State of Florida and Federal courts. Her diverse litigation practice includes construction defects, personal injury, cyber law, products liability, insurance coverage, and intellectual property. Her experience concerning products liability is uniquely focused on pharmaceutical, heavy machinery and premises liability litigation; while her knowledge of intellectual property cases ranges from claims involving copyright or trademark infringement, to civil liability for online content. Beyond her experience as a lawyer, we are particularly proud of her years of active duty in the U.S. Air Force … from which she was Honorably Discharged at the Rank of Captain. Meet Gerri, Trial Paralegal to John Howell..

Gerri is a Florida native, born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida.
Gerri’s educational background began with her enrollment in the Legal Assistance / Paralegal program offered in North Florida. She received an Associate of Science degree at Florida State College Jacksonville (formerly known as Florida Junior College). She also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration, with Paralegal Studies. Gerri is a devoted Florida Gator and Jacksonville Jaguar fan. She enjoys the beach and exploring the outdoors.

Meet Dana, Legal Assistant to Michele Moss

Dana was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, and has worked in the legal field for over forty years. Before joining the FTL team, Dana obtained experience in vast areas of law, including Medical Malpractice, Commercial Litigation, and Construction Law. Dana’s prior years of experience make her a vital asset to the team.
During her time away from the office, Dana adores spending time with her family and friends, which includes her grandson, Brett. She also enjoys boating, fishing, traveling, and football. Go Jags!

Meet Ruth, Executive Legal Assistant to Ciera Gainey

Ruth was born and raised here in the Jacksonville area. After attending the University of Georgia, much to the chagrin of the Gator fans at FTL, she relocated to Atlanta, GA, for thirty years, where she worked in Civil Defense Litigation, Medical Malpractice, and trucking. Ruth returned to Jacksonville and joined the Fernandez Trial Lawyers family in 2013 as the Executive Assistant to the Founding Partner E.T. Fernandez, III.
Ruth has over twenty years of legal experience, ranging from pre-suit cases, litigation files, to trial preparation. Ruth now maintains the role of Executive Assistant to Ciera C. Gainey.
Ruth’s greatest joy is her grandsons; she spends as much time as she can with them when away from the office.

Meet Danielle, Senior Trial Paralegal

Danielle was born and raised in Flanders, New Jersey. She relocated to Georgia in 2012 where she began working on an associate degree in Paralegal Studies. Prior to joining Fernandez Trial Lawyers, Danielle developed extensive experience in customer relations and retail management. Her prior experience in the retail gives her keen insight with premises liability cases, industry standards, and discovery matters.
In her spare time Danielle enjoys spending time with her finance, time at the beach, and being a number one fan at the soccer games her two wonderful boys.

Meet Courtney..

Courtney was born and raised in Jacksonville. She initially joined Fernandez Trial Lawyers in 2002 and presently serves as the firm’s Chief Executive Officer. Courtney has brought a surplus of experience and insight from her prior foundation work to the firm. Courtney founded Angels of Fashion, a pediatric cancer foundation where she helped raise money for families with children battling pediatric cancer. She also founded 904BadAssMoms, where she focused on helping women in need of a boost in order to conquer challenging circumstances. Additionally, she has worked alongside many local families and Wolfson Children’s Hospital.
Before becoming Chief Executive Officer, Courtney acquired almost two decades of experience in marketing management. She has aided in brand management, promotional material, marketing initiatives, responding to client needs, and developing a growth strategy for the firm. Courtney is hands-on with every FTL client and aids in ensuring exceptional representation remains our priority.
While Courtney has a plethora of accolades and recognition for all of the work she has done not only here at FTL but in the community, her greatest accomplishment remains her three beautiful children.

Meet Gary,

Gerrard was born and raised in the Netherlands, where he studied Physical Therapy. He practiced Physical Therapy in the Netherlands, England, and here in Jacksonville, Florida, where he worked for a local medical center for almost 13 years. He had a lifelong interest in law, and was in the fortunate position to go to Florida Coastal Law School after a successful career in health care. He utilizes his knowledge of health care in his analysis of cases, and enjoys his work at Fernandez Trial Lawyers. Gerrard is married, and has four children. His interests outside of work include sailing, reading, and spending time with his family.

Meet, John, Partner

John was born in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1952. He graduated law school in 1977 and has been practicing in Jacksonville since that time. John is is an Martindale-Hubbell peer reviewed attorney with over 100 jury trials to verdict. He has seen every kind of cause of action and can try any case! As a result, John is a pillar of the FTL philosophy making him one of our most formidable defenders.

Meet Ciera, Partner

Ciera Gainey practices general civil litigation and has experience defending premises liability and motor vehicle negligence cases. In addition to her defense experience, Ciera has worked as a Plaintiff’s attorney with a civil litigation firm in the Jacksonville area. Ciera’s prior experience gives her keen insight into how to evaluate claims, injuries, and treatment in personal injury cases.
As a Florida native, Ciera was born and raised in Gainesville, FL. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology from the University of South Florida, and went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law. While in law school, Ciera was a judicial extern for the Honorable Stephanie Ray at the First District Court of Appeal in Tallahassee, FL. As a judicial extern, Ciera became familiar with Florida appellate practices and procedures by conducting legal research, preparing legal memoranda, and drafting case summaries on various civil issues.
While at Florida Coastal School, Ciera exceeded academically by receiving the Cali Excellence Book Award for the highest grade in Torts I. She also found much pride in joining the Moot Court Honor Board and the Mock Trial Team. Present day, Ciera serves as a Board Member of the Jacksonville Bar Associations Young Lawyers Sections, where she aids in serval community service projects and mentors local high school students who aspire to become future lawyers.
Aside from the practice of law, Ciera has a devoted love for music and enjoys spending her spare time singing at various events in the Jacksonville area.
