Victory is mine! (Well, ours.) You all may recall our nightmare flight to Santiago, Chile on Delta. Well the flight was fine, but the 5 1/2 hour delay before departure wasn't. Caused us to miss our connections, and I was out of pocket $2,200 for new flights and 2 nights in hotels. Best offer from Delta customer care was $300 each in e-credits and 40,000 miles to make up for the 40,000 Hilton points I had to spend. I rejected that, and drafted a lawsuit under the Montreal Convention (International travel treaty.) Tracked down the Delta legal department, who promptly acknowledged our rights and claim, which they just paid in full. Plus, told me to go ahead and keep the ecredits and miles. Winner winner, chicken dinner.
