Marry the house, date the rate!

Even though rates are high, it might actually give you an advantage to secure that dream home NOW. Waiting to see if rates drop can put you at risk of having to compete for that home, which could cause you to end up spending more in the long run.

Once rates drop and they will next year next year because it is reelection. Everyone is waiting for the rates to drop. You know what happens next? Everyone that has waited, is going to be home shopping, then guess what? You will be bidding more for a home because everyone wants it.

We deserved a break, and we got one. After avg. 30-yr mortgage rates rose to nearly 7.5% last week, they've quickly dropped back to near 7% on economic data that evidenced a slowing economy and dovish ('we've done enough') comments from existing and past Federal Reserve presidents.
