Entering too early, forcing your way into a small gap, or waiting until the last second can quickly lead to a collision. Match traffic speed, signal early, and merge when there is enough room.

Apparently Baltimore takes its anthem performances seriously. 🎶
Baltimore City law says “The Star-Spangled Banner” cannot be publicly performed there as only a portion of the song or mixed into a medley. It must be performed as a complete, separate composition. Baltimore City Law Library
So no, pretending to know the words isn’t illegal. But if you’re officially performing it in Baltimore, you’d better be ready for the whole song!

Biggest Mistake: Cutting into traffic without space 🚘
When you force your way into a small opening, you reduce the time and space everyone around you has to react.
Signal early, check your surroundings, and wait until there is enough room to merge safely. Creating space gives everyone more options if traffic suddenly changes.

Use your signal, match the flow of traffic, and wait for a safe opening.
A few extra seconds are better than forcing a gap that isn’t there.

With more than 1,000 registered participants, this was the best turnout we have seen in years, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who came out to walk, support survivors, honor loved ones, and raise breast cancer awareness throughout our community.

Higher speeds increase both crash risk and the severity of injuries when a collision happens. Add tailgating or aggressive lane changes, and a moment of impatience can put everyone nearby in danger.
