HAPPY FLAG DAY 🇺🇸

Did you know on June 14, 1777, the Second Continental Congress officially adopted the Stars and Stripes as the standard for our new nation. Before that, different military regiments flew all kinds of different flags!

The idea for a dedicated "Flag Day" started small in the late 1800s, by a Wisconsin schoolteacher named Bernard Cigrand. President Woodrow Wilson finally issued a proclamation in 1916, and Congress made it official in 1949.

How to Observe Today ☀️

Fly the Flag! Just remember the basic rules. It should be flown from sunrise to sunset, and it shouldn't touch the ground.

Wear Red, White, and Blue! A simple way to show some spirit if you're heading out today.

Learn the Code! Take five minutes to look up the U.S. Flag Code. It’s full of interesting etiquette rules—like how to properly fold the flag into a triangle or how to retire an old, worn-out flag respectfully.
