He graduated from Jackson State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science receiving the highest honors of distinction. He later graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Law where he earned a Juris Doctor degree. Upon completing law
school, Attorney Martin served as a law clerk with the Mississippi Supreme Court. He received bar admissions to the Mississippi State Courts, U.S. District Court Northern District of Mississippi, U.S. Court Southern District of Mississippi, and the U.S. As a practicing attorney, he currently holds membership with the American Bar Association, American Trial Lawyers Association, and the Mississippi Bar Association. He is also a member of the Magnolia Bar Association, Hinds County Bar Association, and Mississippi Trial Lawyers Association. Attorney Martin is a distinguished community leader and advocate for social justice. He has been instrumental in developing “cause lawyering” within his work. Therefore, he has received numerous awards and honors throughout his legal career. These awards include Humanitarian of the Year by the Jackson State University National Alumni Association, Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year by the Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers Project, and has been recognized by the Mississippi Center for Justice for his efforts to promote social change for a better society. He has been featured in several print publications including: Ebony, Jet, The Clarion Ledger, The UM Lawyer, The Jacksonian, The Jackson Advocate, and the Mississippi Link. Additionally, he has been a featured guest on The Oprah Winfrey Show and The Montel Williams Show. The Martin Minute is his law firm’s news media arm designed to promote community outreach and engagement. His goal is to raise awareness of important social and political issues affecting families in today’s world. This program also highlights the outstanding accomplishments of distinguished leaders, role models, and noteworthy organizations within the community. Attorney Martin is also a prominent philanthropist and humanitarian. He is the Co-Founder and President of the Warren & Ericka Martin Foundation which is the charitable arm of his law firm. The mission of The Martin Foundation is to uplift and empower the youth and families to improve their lives. This family foundation serves as the primary means of philanthropy and community support provided by the law firm. Attorney Martin is a member of Greater Mt. Church in Jackson, Mississippi where he serves as a Deacon and is actively involved in the Brotherhood Ministry. He is also a renowned speaker who delivers inspirational messages of faith, hope, and love throughout the nation. He is married to Dr. Ericka Martin and has two children: Erin Martin and Warren Martin, III.
