Daniel Coker is proud to extend our congratulations to Miles Forks on being elected President-Elect of the Mississippi Bar Young Lawyers Division, with his term set to begin at the 2026 Annual Meeting this July.

The Mississippi Bar Young Lawyers Division plays an important role in shaping the future of the legal profession—leading public service initiatives, supporting law-related education programs, and organizing impactful projects like the Mississippi High School Mock Trial Competition. Their work strengthens both the profession and the communities they serve.

And a special note of pride for our firm: Daniel Coker shareholder Bobby Higginbotham previously served as a Young Lawyers Division President in 2002-2003, continuing a legacy of leadership and service within the Mississippi legal community.

Daniel Coker is excited to welcome Lauren Bowlin to our Gulfport, MS office as a Summer Associate. Lauren is currently pursuing her J.D. at the University of Mississippi School of Law, where she is a Business Law Fellow and a member of the Mississippi Law Journal, serving as an Executive Articles Editor. Lauren has earned Brief of the Week recognitions and contributes as a member of several student-led organizations. Prior to law school, she graduated summa cm laude from Mississippi State University, where she was a member of numerous campus organizations and served as a Senator for the College of Arts and Sciences. After graduation this coming May, Lauren will clerk for the Honorable Katharine M. Samson, Chief Judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Mississippi, for the 2026–2027 judicial term.

Daniel Coker is proud to announce that Abby Church is joining our team as a Summer Associate in our Madison, MS office. Abby is an upcoming third-year law student at the University of Mississippi School of Law and is originally from Mobile, AL.
At the University of Mississippi School of Law, Abby is very involved in the Negotiation Board and the Mississippi Law Journal, serving as the Associate Articles Editor. Last spring, Abby competed in the Chicago Bar Association Transactional Negotiation Competition, where she was named a national champion alongside her partner, Eleanor Kast. She also competed in the John G. Gibbons Criminal Procedure Moot Court Competition, where she was named Best Brief Runner-Up alongside her partner, Bethany McCain.

Abby has accepted a publication offer from the Michigan Journal of Gender & Law for her article entitled, “A Comparative Analysis of the Lack of Contractual Protections in Female-Dominated Opportunities: Collegiate Competitive Dancers and Cheerleaders Compared to NCAA Student-Athletes and National Pageant Organization Titleholders Compared to Employees/Independent Contractors.”

Abby enjoys serving on the Dean’s Leadership Council and staying involved with the Christian Legal Society and Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society. Prior to law school, Abby graduated summa cm laude from the University of Mississippi, where she was a University of Mississippi Rebelette, and she served as Miss University. She is a lifelong University of Mississippi fan and hopes to never miss a game-day in Oxford! Welcome aboard, Abby!

She has earned multiple Brief of the Week recognitions and contributes to the Dean’s Leadership Council and Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society. Taylor holds leadership roles in various student organizations and will participate in the Transactional Law Clinic this fall. Prior to law school, she graduated summa cm laude from Belmont University, where she was a Division I student-athlete.
