Schlather, Stumbar, Parks & Salk LLP is seeking an attorney to work at its general practice firm who is open to, and experienced in, handling a wide variety of matters. Our ideal candidate will have experience with, and handle, real estate and commercial litigation, as well as work directly with clients in commercial real estate transactions involving the sale, acquisition, secured financing, and leasing of apartment buildings and other commercial real estate.

Duties include reviewing, preparing, and managing transaction documentation; assisting in reviewing, managing, and responding to diligence requests; coordinating closings; and analyzing and examining real estate titles.

This attorney will also have experience with real estate syndications, including condominiums, cooperatives, and/or homeowners associations. Preferred experience includes working with, and presenting to, local boards, Article 78 practice, estate planning practice and appellate work. Expectations include billing approximately twenty (20) hours per week, along with handling flat-fee work. LLC and corporation formation, as well as business sales/transfers experience, necessary. Evictions and landlord/tenant work available. Additionally, there are opportunities for all types of legal work available.

Candidates must be licensed to practice in New York State or eligible to waive into the New York State Bar; have a minimum of two years of experience as an attorney handling commercial and residential real estate or financing transactions with experience commensurate with their years of practice; be organized and detail oriented; and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Consideration will be given to recently admitted attorneys who have non-lawyer business experience in commercial real estate, securitization, structured finance, or related fields. Consideration will also be given to attorneys who wish to strongly incorporate into the Central New York community and who wish to build a lasting practice in the area.

This is a full-time position.
