There is a new law that requires most LLCs, corporations, and other legal entities to disclose to the federal government their actual owners, by the end of this year. Attached is an overview. People should be able to do this reporting on their own, but our lawyers are happy to do it for them if someone does not want to figure it out themselves. Note there is a fine of up to $10,000 for failing to comply, so make sure small businesses with which you work are aware of it!
