For the business attorneys that offer business contracts and templates as a completely separate service to the public, are you drafting your templates from scratch or are there base templates you’re using and then tweaking it based on your legal knowledge? I’ve been thinking of doing this but not sure where to start so any resources you can share is much appreciated! Thank you!

McDonald’s is an online virtual restaurant that will feature actual and virtual goods and home delivery.

So if you’re in the meta verse and you get hungry? Forget about leaving your house. Walk into a McDonald’s in meta verse, place your order, and BAMMM! Your food gets delivered to your door in actual reality! This is a very interesting feature.

Could you see yourself making use of this if you’re pro metaverse?

Hi there. I’m a solo attorney practicing business formation, trademarks/copyrights, estate planning, real estate (phasing out) and contracts. Currently I use cosmolex for practice management as I love the bank feed and accounting features but it’s lacking some features like being able to create practice area template folders that will automatically be assigned when you open a new matter for that practice area. Since I operate on a flat fee basis, I’m wondering if there are other attorneys who have similar practice areas who do not use legal type practice management systems at all. How do you manage your case files and what systems do you use? I’d appreciate all the info you can share. Thanks in advance!

New video alert! You know how much I push the importance of having an estate plan in place. But estate planning also comes with many terms that a lot of people do not understand, therefore making the process daunting. And it doesn’t have to be that way.

I recently posted two videos that will help you better understand the terms used in estate planning. Head on over to my YouTube channel to watch.

There are a lot of people who mistakenly believe that a Will is an estate plan. Although a Will is part of an estate plan, there is a lot more to estate planning or legacy planning like I call it.

Some people also mistakenly believe that they do not have to create an estate plan because they “don’t have a lot of stuff” or that “legacy planning is for the rich”.

EVERYONE NEEDS AN ESTATE PLAN. check out the link https://youtu.be/pN7Sfj8j7W8 or search “your legacy bestie” on YouTube to watch the full video.

Since you already know what an estate plan is and what it isn’t 👀- you should cause we talked about it last week - do you know the key documents that an estate plan contains?

Here are the 4 - 5 key documents in an estate plan. The 5th may be an entirely separate document depending on your state:
✅Financial power of attorney (POA)
✅Advanced directive/living will
✅Last will and testament (Will)
✅Trust
✅Appointment of funeral representative.

Each of these documents confer very important and distinct responsibilities. While some people may not always have trust in place, it is also part of an estate plan.

Let’s talk estate planning 101. A lot of people mistakenly conclude that when you talk about an estate plan that means setting up a Will.

While a Will is part of an estate plan, an estate plan is not just about a Will. A Will is only a fraction of what constitutes an estate plan.

Please be sure to educate yourself on what an Estate plan contains and what will work best for you and your family’s legacy.

PS: in the next few posts we’ll cover, separately, each document that is part of an estate plan and why you may need it.
