Ghana is not among the 50 countries whose nationals may be required to pay a visa bond of $10,000, $15,000 or $20,000 before being issued a B-1/B-2 visitor visa.

Before attending your U.S. visa interview, verify whether your nationality is subject to the visa bond requirement and stay informed about the latest immigration updates.

If your loved one suddenly disappears from the ICE Locator, don’t automatically assume they have been deported.

There could be several reasons their information is no longer appearing. Stay calm and take action by contacting ICE, the detention facility, or an experienced immigration attorney to help establish their whereabouts and understand the next steps.

New immigration filing fees are taking effect in October 2026. The annual asylum fee, for example, increases from $102 to $105, while some TPS and work permit fees are also changing.

Before submitting your paperwork, verify the correct filing fee and effective date to avoid rejection or unnecessary delays.

The U.S. Department of State has updated its visa bond list, affecting nationals of 50 countries, including Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Uganda and Zimbabwe.

Certain B1/B2 visa applicants from affected countries may be required to post a refundable visa bond before a visa is issued. Paying the bond does not guarantee visa approval.

🇬🇭 Ghana is currently not on the list.

Applicants are advised to verify whether their nationality is affected before attending their visa interview.

🚨 ICE Detainee Locator Update

ICE has stopped displaying the names of thousands of detainees with final removal orders on its online detainee locator, raising concerns for immigrant families and attorneys trying to locate loved ones.

If your family member suddenly disappears from the ICE locator, don’t automatically assume they have been deported.

📌 Contact ICE, the detention facility, or an immigration attorney to establish their whereabouts.

Don’t panic. Get the right information and seek legal help.

🚨 October 2026 Visa Bulletin is here!

Waiting for your green card? October marks the start of a new U.S. fiscal year, bringing new visa numbers and movement in several family- and employment-based categories.

If you have an I-130, I-140, EB-2, EB-3, or another preference petition, check your priority date and confirm which USCIS chart applies to your adjustment-of-status filing.

📌 Don’t rely on last month’s bulletin—check every month!

The U.S. government is considering revoking B-1/B-2 business and tourist visas issued between 2016 and 2026 for certain foreign nationals who entered the U.S. on those visas and later applied for or sought asylum.

The measure does not apply to all B-1/B-2 visa holders. Up to 200,000 people could potentially be affected, although the final number remains uncertain.

However, visa revocation does not automatically mean deportation or the immediate termination of a pending asylum case.

📞 Contact us at +1 (214) 997-1758. We’re here to help you through the process.
