Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for El Salvador was set to expire on September 9, 2026. However, as of of this morning, no official announcement has been made regarding an extension or termination. The USCIS website simply states: "An announcement on El Salvador’s TPS will be made at the appropriate time. Until such announcement is made, Salvadoran individuals present in the U.S. under TPS retain protection including work authorization." Such confusion and anxiety for Salvadoran TPS holders and their employers!

AILA and immigration law firm Benach Pitney Reilly sued the Trump Administration in the U.S. District Court of the District of Columbia for implementing substantive form changes again, without warning, that will harm potentially thousands of AILA members and their clients.
