In my 40 years of practice and of the many cases I’ve handled, this is one of the worst. My client was a passenger in this vehicle and his driver, who was traveling at a high rate of speed, attempted to downshift and lost control of the vehicle. Their vehicle went into the opposite side of the road and collided with multiple oncoming vehicles.

The driver was fortunate enough to walk out of the vehicle virtually unscathed but my client was trapped in the passenger seat fading in and out of consciousness. The jaws of life were required to free him from the wreckage. He sustained a head laceration, broken clavicle, fractured sternum, a boxer’s fracture, multiple abrasions and bruises and received 26 stitches for his head injury.

My client required sixteen months of treatment to recover. Once recovered, I was able to proceed with resolving his case and seeing that he was well compensated for the pain and suffering he endured due to his driver’s negligence.

Late one Thursday night, my clients were on their way to meet up with a friend. As they entered an intersection, they were violently struck by a young lady who was traveling at a high rate of speed and ran a red light all while being distracted by her cell phone. My clients’ vehicle was sent flying through the air, before crashing down into the road and rolling over several times. My clients were left dangling upside down. They each cut their seat belts off and crawled through broken glass and debris to exit their vehicle.

My clients were both rushed to the hospital and one of them was diagnosed with several fractured ribs, a fractured spine, bruising all over his face and a broken front tooth. The other client had a several scrapes and bruises as well as a forehead laceration. He received sixteen stitches but declined further treatment at the emergency room due to his fear of doctors.

After discussing the availability of treating with one of my doctors, my clients declined further medical care and urged me to settle their case without their receiving additional medical treatment and I did so. They were extremely pleased with the money I obtained for them.
