We have met many great role models that inspire us but two in particular, exemplify the goal of Meet Someone New Today Day. No matter the circumstance, Joe Sheinman would engage people he did not know in conversation finding common ground with them no matter who they were, what their race or ethnicity was, where they were from, or what their interests were. Strangers at the start, they would leave as if they'd been friends for years. He was born on August 25th and recently died at the age of 92. Similarly, known as a ‘people builder’, Arthur Lee Stokes, who also recently passed away, could always find the goodness in someone’s heart. Joe and Arthur were the consummate ambassadors for humankind and represent a positivity movement that we want to support. We celebrate their lives by trying to spread their message of love and kindness.
