Day 30 Mother's Day
We had a great lunch and then all worked on the yard and yes more flower beds. Yall my husband needs a break...he's been a super trooper thru all my craziness. Planted more Dahlias (Darcy, Boom Boom white, 20th Ave Memory) and Cana Lillies, Verbena White, Hydrangea Pink, Veggies, Lisianthas seeds, some odd colorful plant and started mulching beds that need mulch and did what we could. Here's some pics of Day 30 not my pics just so I can remember what day I planted what seed or plant. I have a week of mulch more Dahlias and new seeding on Sunflowers for a 30 day new crop- succession planting a few crops.

I'm trying to covert to healthier food. While everything is not "clean" its what I wanted tonight. I don't like salads so this is my version of a big bowl salad that I will snack on the next few hours filled with my favorite foods. Charcuterie plate for the win tonight.

Day 1 or 1 day? Update
Day 17 My Birthday April 27th
We are done planting except for 2 bushes (PomPoms) Kevin and I have made 4 trips to Lowe's since Thursday for potting dirt, mulch, top soil bushes and so much more. We completed 5 more flower beds with Dahlias 13 kinds, Lillies 5 kinds, Astilbe, Iris, Cana Lillies, Gladiolus mixed colors and more tomatoe plants and 2 butterfly bushes. Kevin and Julia have been so helpful all day everyday. We did it! Now to water, w**d and put out mulch in the beds that need it. In 6 to 8 weeks I can't wait to see the flowers, God's beautiful display of color. I can't wait for us to sit outside with my coffee and laptop and enjoy the view. I'm 54 today, I worked so hard to make this dream come true. If I can basically flower & garden farm every day after my day job til dark then you can can do whatever you've been putting off. You just have to decide Day 1 or 1 day? Pics of just some of what was planted the past 4 days

Day 1 or 1 day? Update(every 2 days)
Day 11 - April 22nd 2026 Planted = Cosmos, Aster Peach, Dianthus Raspberry Ripple, Daisy Swan River, African Daisy Blue Disc, Shasta Daisy, Fever Few Virgo, Fever Few Tetra, and Cress.
All that after I got off work, we all helped and got it done! Kevins been working so hard to create my beds each day so when I have time the next step is ready for me. Garden veggies have little leaves starting to show today.
Yesterday we prepped the front beds since the temps and weather was perfect! One bed for the under 18 inch height flowers, two up against the front of our privacy fence for the PomPoms, Double Hollyhocks and Snapdragons that grow tall. Those will go out in next few days. 1 step closer every day.

Day 1 or 1 day Update:
Day 8 - April 19th Realized it was going to rain overnight and I still had some sunflowers that needed to be planted. So The hubby and I got the rest of the sunflowers planted. I still have so much to plant and cultivate/till up beds. Maybe with the cooler temps tomorrow I'll play in the mud and get more out. Rows are already made for about 6 more kinds of flowers. Here's the 4 Pro-Cut Sunflowers colors we planted this week. 1 step closer to a beautiful flower yard. Veggies already complete too.

Day 1 or 1 Day?
Today was Day 2. Garden veggies planted, seeds in the ground. We all chipped in today even with sore muscles and exhausted even my brother came to help and spend time with us. 3 more flower beds tilled/cultivated those will be in the front yard so they have a specific layout/plans. Got to rake the grass out first. We created all the rows for the Sunflowers and the 24 other types of floral bouquet type flowers in our larger back yard beds. We just couldn't do anything else today so 4pm was the cut off so we could all rest. Here's a picture of a small portion of the veggie garden from a previous year at the 30 Day mark from seeds. Day 1 or 1 day?
I chose today to be Day 1.
Today I planted over 500 Zinnias. I have 25 more types of plants, seeds and bulbs and 4 colors of ProCut Sunflowers. Today Day 1, my family decided to create something beautiful! In 8 weeks we can enjoy endless amounts of cut flowers. You can't eat the grass so we will make lots of bees and humming birds happy this year. I will be transforming my yard front and back into a colorful place of peace and happiness. Doing 2 harvests so I'll have fresh flowers from June to October frost.
Day 2 The rest of the 25 kinds of different flowers plus the veggie garden too. Can't wait to grow German pink tomatoes like my daddy did. Oh and herbs and filler flowers too.
Blessed on Day 1, I was strong enough to tackle raking and w**ding and prepping the entire garden area. No joke my body hurts from 2 days of prep work. Picture of what day 1 flowers will look like, I bought the florist grade for our project.
