Brett is an old friend of mine and he started this amazing program. My dog is in my office and I see the comfort she provides to my clients, many of whom are talking about very serious and sometimes heartbreaking issues. What a brilliant idea to pair dogs from a shelter with kids in a juvenile detention center. The dogs receive needed training so they can be placed in a forever home and the kids get unconditional love.

The human spirit is amazing. I have been privileged to have provided the peace of mind to clients in hospice who stayed alive long enough to put in place an estate plan. We educate our clients about the importance of being admitted to a hospital rather than being under observation. This article does a beautiful job of explaining why.

The law requires notification to Medicare beneficiaries that they may incur huge out-of-pocket costs if they seek care at nursing homes after not being formally admitted to hospitals as inpatients.
