Today I had an attorney email me the following: "This appears to be a balance of compassion v. practicality and I want to err on the side of compassion."
I wish every family law attorney would take this same approach! These are real people, and we are changing their entire life.

The holidays can be one of the most challenging times to co-parent, especially if this is the first year dividing time with your children. If you have not solidified your holiday plans, you should do so immediately, making sure to detail both dates and times. When all parties have the same expectations, there is less room for error and the resulting conflict.
Happy Holidays!!

Mediation Benefit #8. Decisions that Hold Up Over Time.

Mediated settlements tend to hold up longer than litigated decisions over time, and if a dispute later arises, parties are more likely to mediate again to resolve their differences than to rush into Court.

The holidays are quickly approaching and can be a time of high conflict for families operating with parenting time schedules. Schedule holiday parenting time early and confirm those schedules with your co-parent. Keep in mind that your lawyer's office is often closed on the holidays, but we can help when you plan in advance!

Mediation Benefit #7. Compliance.
Parties who reach their own agreements through mediation are generally more likely to follow through and comply with the terms agreed to than those that have been imposed by
a Judge.
