Amazing!
Virginia native Justus Kelley has made history after being crowned Miss USA at the 75th Miss USA competition in Miami. The Arlington native became the first married woman, mother and woman in her 30s to win the national title.
Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger congratulated Kelley following her victory, calling her a strong role model for Virginians and Americans. Kelley is a foster mom and founder of Foster Footprints, a regional nonprofit supporting foster youth and foster families across the DMV. Her advocacy focuses on raising awareness about the challenges faced by children in foster care.
Before competing for Miss USA, Kelley used trash bags as luggage to highlight how children in foster care often move between homes carrying their belongings in trash bags. Kelley will now represent the United States at the Miss Universe competition.
