Crystal D. Pulley, Attorney

Crystal D. Pulley, Attorney Family relationships are at the heart of what we do. I was born and raised in the State of Indiana, in a little farm town known mostly for the Amtrak station.

My name is Crystal Pulley and I am an attorney licensed to represent clients in State and Federal Courts throughout the State of Indiana, as well as in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. I knew by the time I entered middle school that I either wanted to be a brain surgeon or an attorney, but when I almost passed out while shadowing a pathologist, I figured that was a sure sign that I didn't hav

e the stomach to be a surgeon of any sort, let alone a brain surgeon. My path to becoming an attorney was definitely not a traditional one. Because of the health of my grandparents, I decided I wanted to start a family while I was young to allow my children to experience the grandparents that I loved so dearly. That being said, I became a certified paralegal and worked as a litigation paralegal and office manager for a law firm in Fort Wayne, Indiana, for several years. Eventually, I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Business Management and went on to attend law school in Indianapolis at the IU-McKinney School of Law. Upon graduation from law school, I took a position working at a medical malpractice defense firm in Indianapolis. After nearly a year at that position, I decided to go back to the office where I clerked throughout law school and I started to build up my own legal practice. I focus primarily on the following types of cases: personal injury, family law, estate planning, probate and guardianships, and social security disability appeals. I understand that sometimes a client's work schedule does not permit them to call their attorney or meet with their attorney during regular business hours, nor do all legal issues arise between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., so I offer my clients after-hours appointments. If I can be of any assistance to you or your loved ones, please feel free to contact me.

I don’t handle many private cases anymore, but today, I left court in a small Indiana county with a tearfully happy client after being awarded step-parent visitation after successfully arguing a motion to correct error. What better way to go into the holidays?! It’s days like this that make those not so happy days practicing law worthwhile.

Out of office through June 17th. I will respond any emails as soon as I am able upon my return.

Anyone else feel this way this week? After taking a week off of work for the holidays, getting back into the grind this week has been a struggle! I had a very hectic 8 weeks leading up to the break and my schedule is not much better in the coming weeks. I am working through emails and getting caught up as quickly as I can (in between hearings, conferences, mediations, etc.). Please be patient and if you need anything urgently, please call my office.

Winter break is here for most and almost here for others. I don’t know about you, but I am so ready for the break and the time with family but so much further behind than I normally would be. Our family Christmas cards are generic this year rather than the custom family cards that I normally send and they are still sitting in a stack to mail out. My annual holiday calendars for clients haven’t even been ordered yet. And I haven’t even finished my Christmas shopping. I’m totally unprepared this year! If you are as unprepared as I am this year, I’m rooting for you to get everything accomplished in time. If you are way ahead of the game, send me some mojo! Happy holidays, everyone!

As a family law attorney, I hear spouses/parents accusing their exes of being narcissists all of the time. I cringe most times when I hear this, because 1) I’m certainly not qualified to diagnose someone with narcissistic personality traits; 2) I’m pretty sure (most of) my clients aren’t either; and 3) normally (but not always), the spouse/parent that throws around this allegation without pause is the one who has the narcissistic personality traits and is deflecting on their ex.
