Registration for the 2021 TTALT Virtual Video Replay is open! The CLE is FREE (yes, free) if you agree to do pro bono; $300 if you would rather provide financial support. Volunteer options include working a shift at the 2022 Talk-to-a-Lawyer event on MLK Day (January 17th), taking a pro bono case, or working at another clinic during 2022. The event if virtual, so you don't even have to leave your comfy couch. See you on the 10th!

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development needs Administrative Law Judges to help address the growing number of pandemic-related unemployment insurance (UI) appeals. As an ALJ you will hear UI appeals cases and render binding decisions. Positions are temporary and remote, full and part-time, with flexible scheduling.

Our yearly Talk To A Lawyer Today is January 18. Please help us get the word out by sharing this flyer with your family and friends who may benefit from this service. PS - We still need FOUR attorneys to sign up for a two-hour phone shift in our Indianapolis office. Each volunteer will receive a "Commonly Asked Questions About Indiana Law" manual to help you answer most of the questions that will be asked. If you are a Marion County resident behind on your rent because of COVID-19, here are some places to seek help and legal advice:

1. Apply for rental financial assistance at indyrent.org. NOTE: Applications are not being accepted right now, but get on the waiting list so you get notified if it reopens.

2. Call the Eviction Hotline (317.973.1673) run by Indiana Legal Services. The hotline is open the 3rd Thursday of each month between 10 and noon.

3. Use the free "Ask-A-Lawyer" chat box at www.indybar.org.

If you are an attorney concerned about protecting our rights of free speech and assembly, and are willing to be a neutral observer at protests and rallies, let's get you trained!!

A free online Legal Observer Training for Attorneys will be held TONIGHT at 5 EDT / 4 CDT. Register here:

This training will educate and equip attorneys, law students, legal workers, and members of the public to be prepared to act as neutral legal observers at protests and demonstrations.  Questions by potential legal observers as well as demonstrators are welcomed and encouraged.
