Since joining us as a law clerk in 2018 and becoming an Associate in October 2019, Scott has distinguished himself in patent and trademark prosecution and litigation. His expertise is backed by valuable experience gained at a startup software company and a leading pharmaceutical firm, where he focused on corporate and intellectual property legal research.
Scott's impressive academic background includes both a Bachelor's and a Master's in Biology, and he actively participated in Moot Court and the Phi Delta Phi Wilkie Inn legal honor society during his studies.

The movement to compensate players has now reached high school athletes in many states, following similar changes at the college level. However, it’s crucial for these young athletes to proceed with caution when it comes to accepting money or signing contracts, as these can have repercussions for both them and their teams. Even in cases where athletes are eligible to receive compensation, organizations and players alike should prioritize seeking qualified legal advice to help navigate the intricate landscape of NIL regulations and associated legal matters.

The trend of players getting paid has extended from college athletes to high schoolers in most states.

It is important to stay informed about the hidden aspects of copyright and social media interactions. The detailed provisions in a platform’s terms of service and how rights holders navigate these terms can play a significant role in potential infringement conflicts.

The terms of service frequently provide license for the online service to use the user’s content, including potentially granting additional rights for others to do the same.
