Congratulations Eric and Heather! What a fun adventure this has been. This is their first home and first endeavor into investment property. They got themselves a cute duplex and now they are landlords!

Plumlee's Realtors attended the 101st annual Florida Realtors Convention & Trade Expo held at Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando this week. We met with Realtors from around the state to discuss key issues that shape our profession and the Florida Association. Our Realtors attended education sessions on topics like new real estate trends and helping buyers and sellers. The convention featured Daymond John, a star of ABC-TV’s “Shark Tank”, who offered business insights and strategies during the opening session. This year’s Trade Expo featured more than 200 hundred industry experts and exhibitors showcasing the latest products, technology, and other business tools designed to help our Realtors do a better job for customers.

Here’s great sage advice from a successful Realtor. He says “the first clear first step for a new Realtor is: Know your area inside and out. Local expertise is critical.” One of the first questions Realtors get is -

"How's the market?"

And it might seem like a softball question. But for new Realtors, it's an opportunity. What matters most to home buyers and sellers right now is what's happening in the market right now. When I'm recruiting, Agents are open about what lacks in their current firm. At Plumlee we’ve created a culture where we work hard to do right by our agents in these areas. This Inman article by Bernice Ross, CEO of RealEstateCoach.com, really nails it. Too many Realty firms fail their agents because of:
1. No business plan for the firm and no planning help for the agents.
2. Poor Recruits who create a toxic office.
3. Ineffective mentoring.
4. Failure to train agents how to message the value of company tools to their clients.
5. Leaders who don’t show appreciation for good & great performance.
6. Failure to keep pace with technology.
