We sincerely hope you will join us on June 5, 2019 at the Idaho Falls Public Library from 7-8pm to learn more about new alternatives to guardianship. Our office has created a new power of attorney for finances and a new power of attorney for medical. These can be used by families with developmentally delayed children in certain situations. It will take the collaboration of the individual, family, friends, and professionals in order for these power of attorneys to be effective, especially in times of emergency.

You will also be informed on what is being discussed locally, statewide, and nationally in this area. While this directly affects families who have a developmentally delayed child who is 17 turning 18 soon, Idaho is reviewing proposed changes to laws in this area. We would invite all families with developmentally delayed children to become informed and offer input to help shape the laws for the future.
