Elmore is an attorney with a concentration in criminal defense. She is admitted to practice in all Alabama state courts, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama and the Supreme Court of the United States. Katherine is member of the Huntsville-Madison County Bar Association, the Alabama State Bar Association, the bar association of the Supreme Court of the United State
s, and the Alabama Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. Katherine obtained her J.D. with honors from Birmingham School of Law, where she was elected Chaplain of Sigma Delta Kappa Honor Society, was a member of the Honor Court and the Trial Advocacy Team, and received the Hugh J. Locke Constitutional Law Award. Prior to starting her own practice, Katherine worked for the Cochran Firm - Huntsville for 10 years. She also worked for Lanier Ford Shaver & Payne in Huntsville, Alabama; and Porterfield Harper & Mills in Birmingham, Alabama. Before moving to Huntsville, Alabama in 2000, Katherine completed her undergraduate degree in history from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In 2002 she completed the graduate certification program in technical communication, with honors, at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
