How to…lose your house to Medicaid. 🏡 🙁

Here’s something a lot of people don’t realize:

After you use Medicaid to help pay your long-term care, Medicaid will want to recover those funds and might place a lien on your house.

What if…I already have a trust? Do I still need a will?

👉 Yep, you do. Why?

There are two big things that a will can do, but a trust can’t.

You can’t name a guardian in a trust, but you can in a will.
A trust doesn’t automatically cover all of your assets, but a pour-over will does.

Once you have a trust, all you need is a pour-over will to be the “catch-all” in case you acquire more property in the future so it automatically includes it in your plan.

It’s kinda like a backpack 🎒 that carries everything for you.
