Thank you ABOR - Ashland Board of Realtors for having us at the Realtor Fair today!

Some of the material we provided explained the importance of owner’s title insurance, an insurance policy that protect an owner’s interest from defects in title.

A common myth we hear is that an owner’s policy isn’t necessary because the home is a new construction. Even though the home is new, title to the land can still have defects from the previous owner.

Another common myth is that title insurance isn’t needed because the property has been in the family for a while. There may be defects in the title such as an unknown heir or probate errors.
