A Notice from the NYS Department of State Regarding a Cyber Warning:
The State’s Chief Information Security Office (CISO) recently uncovered a website post threatening the sale of information related to Real Estate Licensees.

Please be advised that a thorough investigation by CISO has determined there was no cyber threat incident because the only data gathered is information that is already publicly available on the State’s Open Data platform, which does not contain personal private information.

As always, please exercise caution and protect yourself if you are contacted by any unknown entity. If approached by someone claiming to have this information and threatening to use it for harmful intent, please contact your local law enforcement immediately.
