I provide legal representation exclusively to clients with a special needs family member. I have experience in all Southern California courts, and also in numerous counties in Central and Northern California. My services include conservatorships, adult child support, regional center eligibility, special needs trusts, social security (SSI) appeals, special education due process complaints, and medi
ation. I have successfully helped clients receive eligibility for regional center, social security (SSI), and special education services where previous efforts had failed. I have a high success rate in litigation i.e., contested matters in family law court and probate court (conservatorship) where there is a dispute involving a developmentally disabled child (e.g., child custody/support and decision making as to medical, regional center, and special education services). I guide families through the conservatorship process when their developmentally disabled child reaches the age of majority (18 years old) so that they can still make decisions on behalf of their adult child. In addition to my law career of over 20 years, I have an extensive background in the healthcare industry and the educational field, both pertinent to representing special needs clients. I have a Masters degree of Science in Public Policy, with an emphasis on healthcare policy and government/non-profit organizations. Previously, I was Chief Operating Officer at the Center for Community and Family Services, a child educational and development organization; a Director at Cedars Sinai Medical Center; a Vice President at Blue Shield of California and a healthcare management consultant at Ernst & Young.
