A lot thought went into the name, For Your Investment Realty. It was my thought that purchasing property should be an investment not only now but for ones future. The name For Your Investment Realty was born. Thinking along these same lines, I wanted a motto that would utilize the F.Y.I. After pondering it over and over, I looked at the letters in reverse and came up with our motto. “Invest in You
r Future” After a few years of saying For Your Investment Realty, I realized it was too long to say or hear. Hence, it was shortened to what we now operate under, the dba name, FYI Realty. I, Mike Detana, am the sole owner and broker of FYI Realty. I decided to become a broker and open my own company to have more flexibility for myself and future agents that would eventually work under the company. I operated out of my home for several years. In April of 2010, I purchase a small house in Old Humble at 318 Granberry St to become my real estate office. FYI Realty has operated out of this location for the last 4 years. In the fall of 2014, FYI Realty was blessed to be able to purchase an amazing building one street over in the heart of Old Humble. Our new office is now located at 101 Main St. Humble TX 77338. Mike and his agents believe that owning a home is part of the American Dream. We all take pride in being part of the process to assist you and your family in obtaining this dream. Mike is married to his wife, Shantie. Who is also a licensed Texas REALTOR. He is a dad to three, Lauren, Michael and Gabriel. Mike enjoys life to the fullest with his wife, kids and is actively involved in his church, Grace Church of Humble. His daughter, Lauren has assisted him with numerous real estate transactions and aspires to be in real estate full time as well. Michael, currently attends Houston Baptist University where he is working towards getting a degree in Christianity. Michael aspires to work in the ministry of missions and as a pastor at home and abroad. Gabriel is in high school at Atascocita High and looks to joining the Air Force and attending college in the near future. Before entering the world of real estate, Mike worked for 20 years for several retailers. His years saw him work his way up the ladder from a part time employee to middle management as a District Manager. His experience in the retail industry refined his customer service skills, employee relations and taught him how to pay close attention to detail. Mike also served in the Army National Guard for 6 years. While being a retail district manager paid the bills, there was something missing. He felt the desire to do something he enjoyed. Everything changed when Mike entered the real estate industry part time in 2000. He became a full time agent in 2003, he earned his broker’s license in 2005 and opened his own realty business as stated above. Real Estate was a natural fit for Mike, as he already enjoyed previewing homes and working with people. Always ready to put a client before himself, Mike likes advising clients about making more informed decisions about their investment. As the proud owner of FYI Realty, Mike and his agents believe in offering client services that will bring them value in the long run. FYI Realty is big enough to get the job done yet small enough to give excellent care for our client’s needs.
