As part of my continuing effort to speak to people in plain language, I have blogged on appeals.

I am accepting referrals and cases for civil, criminal, and family appeals to the NJ App Div and Supreme Court. I am accepting referrals for Hague Abduction Convention Appeals to all USCAs (nationwide).

If you have a court case you will initially file in what we call the “lower” court. Depending on what state or federal court, this may be called the district court, trial court, court of common pleas, etc. It is the court that first hears the case.
