Seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) receptionist/legal assistant for a contract, part-time position. The firm's practice areas include family law, wills and probate law, and mediation.
Minimun requirements:
》High school or equivalent
》Fluency in Spanish (speak, write, and read)
》Proficiency in Microsoft products, office equipment, and multi-line phones.
》At least 1 year in customer service experience
》At least 1 year experience working in an office environment
This job requires some who is be able to work independently or with minimal supervision, able to multi-task while dealing with frequent interruptions. Must be able to communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff in a knowledgeable, articulate, professional manner. Further, the employee must be able to organize and prioritize responsibilities and have a strong work ethic and organizational skills.
The employee will be responsible for the following duties:
▪︎greeting clients and answering incoming calls;
▪︎assisting clients with questions about their case;
▪︎calendaring and docketing hearings, appointments and deadlines;
▪︎maintaining legal files, including tabbing and indexing litigation files, both on paper and electronically;
▪︎preparing correspondence and other documents, making copies and scanning client documents;
▪︎obtaining payments from clients;
▪︎calling courts to follow-up on case settings;
▪︎other administrative duties as needed.
FAMILY LAW EXPERIENCE A PLUS!
Schedule: Monday to Friday, flexible hours, at least 20hrs per week
Some Paralegal training preferred.
