A major Supreme Court decision could have important implications for asbestos victims and their families across America! Norfolk Southern Railway tried to prevent an asbestos-related lawsuit from moving forward in Pennsylvania.

The case involves a former railroad mechanic who allegedly encountered asbestos while working around freight cars. The railroad argued that Pennsylvania shouldn't have jurisdiction over the case. But on October 5, 2026, the Supreme Court declined to hear its latest appeal.

That means Pennsylvania's rule allowing lawsuits against companies registered to do business there remains intact. The Court didn't decide whether asbestos exposure occurred. But the decision preserves an important legal pathway for families pursuing justice.
