The process server serving Oliva Wilde was doing her job. Service of process in legal disputes is an essential part of the legal process. Notifying a party via the service of process is usually the first step in litigation. Serving a high profile individual like a celebrity is nearly impossible. It almost always requires finding the person out in public. Because celebrities do not make themselves available to the general public in any other way. Celebrities put barriers between themselves and the general public including process servers. Regardless, don’t blame the messenger!

Wilde being handed custody papers on stage was a traumatic event. So why can’t we help laughing online? It’s the latest example of our problematic relationship to celeb culture.

We don’t pretend to be something we are not at Houston Court Processors. Many process servers have started wearing badges that say “process server” on them. However, you will never see one of our process servers wearing a badge. Impersonating a public servant is against the law and could have potential damaging results for the lawyer in the case and their pending litigation. Please refer to https://www.txcourts.gov for rules and regulations governing certified civil process servers in Texas.

We have been certified to serve process in Texas for over 15 years. Call us today and receive informed, competent, and knowledgeable service.

Houston area courthouses are closed tomorrow and HCP will be too. The roads are dangerous and we are following local guidelines to stay off the roads. Thank You.
