Harris County Civil Courts at Law will be closed on Tuesday January 21, 2025, due to inclement weather!

Harris County Civil Courts at Law is canceling all in-person proceedings scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025, due to inclement weather and the potential for dangerous road conditions.

All in-person proceedings set for Tuesday will be rescheduled. This includes in-person proceedings set on the dockets for each of the four Harris County Civil Courts at Law, as well as the docket run by Harris County Civil Courts at Law Associate Judge Jermaine Thomas.

Some online hearings scheduled for Tuesday will proceed as planned. Email the court to which your case is assigned if you have questions.

If your case was rescheduled, you can find your new court date by contacting your attorney or the court to which your case is assigned, or monitoring the Harris County Clerk’s website: www.cclerk.hctx.net/applications/websearch/Home.aspx.

Should anything change, updates will be posted on social media and our website: www.ccl.hctx.net. Please continue to monitor both for the latest information about weather closures.

Due to inclement weather conditions, the offices of the Harris County District Clerk will be closed on Tuesday, January 21 and Wednesday, January 22. In addition, jury service has been cancelled for those two dates as well.

Breaking Update: The suspect in Brazoria County Deputy's Murder has been confirmed deceased by law enforcement.

MANHUNT FOR SUSPECT WHO SHOT AND KILLED A POLICE OFFICER!

A manhunt remains underway for the gunman who shot and killed a Brazoria County Deputy in a strip center along Stella Link Road near the South Loop. The suspect was been identified as Robert Lee Davis AKA Sean Christopher Davis, 56.

He is a black male, approx. 200 pounds, 5'10" and last seen wearing a blue Nike hoodie with white lettering, blue jeans & blue sneakers.

Anyone with information should call Houston Police or Houston Crime Stoppers.

Houston police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 5901 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 12:25 a.m. today (July 12).

A photo of the suspect, described only as a black male, is attached to this news release.

The identity of the deceased male, 23, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives H. Montealegre and K. Amri reported:

Officers responded to a report of a shooting at the above address and found a male who had been shot multiple times in the parking lot of a vehicle storage lot. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male deceased at the scene.

Witnesses reported there had been an argument over a vehicle. The verbal altercation then resulted in multiple suspects pulling out fi****ms and shooting the complainant. The unknown suspects fled the scene.

Anyone who has information on the identity or whereabouts of the suspect pictured below, the other unknown suspects or in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.

Update: Ronald “Ronnie” Palmer Jr. has been located and taken into custody without further incident. He was located at a residence at the 12300 block of Ghita Ln.

Thank you to the Houston Police Department and all public safety partners for their assistance. One of Deputy Esqueda’s closest friends told Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, “Fernando would be so proud right now.”

Wanted: Ronald “Ronnie” Palmer Jr.

We urgently need your help in locating Ronald “Ronnie” Palmer Jr., who is wanted for aggravated assault and is a person of interest in the capital murder of HCSO Deputy Fernando Esqueda.

Ronald Palmer has tattoos on both arms and dreads. He is heavy-set and tall and was last seen wearing a black jersey with a “Bel-Air Academy” logo, black shorts, and a towel over his shoulders.

On Wednesday, July 10, 2024, an aggravated assault occurred at 15634 Wallisville Rd, Houston, TX (Little Caesars) in East Harris County. Following this incident, a shooting took place near 13227 Italian Cypress Trail, Houston, TX (residence), involving the shooting of a Harris County Sheriff's Office Deputy.
