Teach your children that they are always loved, and that what they achieve has nothing to do with the love you feel for them. Teach them that really in the scheme of things good enough is exactly that. Trying to be at the top of everything is too much. And at what cost? Because there is a cost…And if you have not learned that lesson, please think about applying these lessons you teach your children to yourself…It took me so long to really heed the lessons I taught others…....

If you want to be truly happy, follow your own path without comparing your life or yourself to anyone. Doing that requires you to accept personal responsibility for your outcomes. I have truly in my life fallen short of the outcomes I have so often worked and hoped for, but have learned that success is not necessarily measured by getting to the finish line first; it is having a finish line period; it is in the doing of a thing with a true heart without pushing anyone else down around me....

There’s a woman inside who has had to be a warrior at times, a spirit filled with magic and dreams that she holds dear to her soul, but has somehow repressed or put on the back burner in her need to care for others. She is a light that shines, one inclusive to her gender. I loathe stereotypes and especially do not care much for the dumb blond, big b***s depictions. I get it, but I really don’t….I have often felt like I have been on the butt of this particular stereotype since I was in the sixth grade when my breasts grew way beyond the point of “normal.” I was an athlete, not much else appealed to me, except books and plays where I pretended Trixie Belden and Nancy Drew were my sisters….I also loved horses, cows, dogs, cats, and birds and stayed in trouble with my daddy for always taking them in, but they helped me cope, my therapists… I didn’t really know how to talk to about feeling so awkward....
