The Firm is proud to close strong. While John and Jeff are transitioning their practices to their new firms, Joyce + McFarland LLP is still notching significant wins for its clients and being recognized as one of the best commercial litigation firms in the country. On December 27, the Fifth Circuit affirmed the take-nothing judgment issued by District Judge David Collins (Western District of Texas -- Midland/Odessa), through which the court ordered that plaintiffs DOH Oil Company and Craig Johnson take nothing by reason of their claims for violations of civil RICO. A big win for John McFarland and his team (and his clients!)

And Best Lawyers Firms issued its 14th Edition of its Best Law Firms, once again naming Joyce + McFarland LLP as one of the best commercial litigation firms in the country. John and Jeff are proud of what they achieved together over their 15-year partnership and plan on continuing their pursuit of excellence in the practice of law as they move forward in their separate law firms: John McFarland Lawyers PLLC dba JM Lawyers and The Joyce Law Firm.

J+M Law Celebrates a Legacy of Excellence, New Chapter for Partners.

Joyce + McFarland LLP proudly celebrates 15 years of providing clients with top notch legal services. Since Jeff and John formed the firm on November 1, 2008 – in middle of the Great Recession – they remained focused on efficiently achieving optimal results for the firm’s clients, and this milestone stands as a testament to their enduring success.

And now we are turning the page to a new chapter. The founding partners have mutually decided to transition into new and separate ventures. Beginning on January 1, 2024, Jeff Joyce will transition his practice to The Joyce Law Firm and John H. McFarland will transition his practice to John McFarland Lawyers PLLC dba JM Lawyers.

To our clients, thank you for letting us represent you. Nothing happens without you. To all the great people we got to work with, know how much we appreciate all you did to make the firm what it was. We assure our clients, colleagues, and vendors that this transition will be smooth. Providing top-notch legal services remains our sole commitment, and the legacy of Joyce +McFarland will endure through the continued dedication of our talented team.

Joyce + McFarland LLP’s partners have once again been named Texas Super Lawyers, marking twenty+ years in a row for Jeff Joyce and ten years in a row for John H. McFarland. As the firm gets ready to celebrate fifteen years since the partners formed the boutique litigation firm, the partners remain at the top of their game.
