Two felony cases set for trial today. It was a good day!

1) Client was facing 25-Life. The state's offer was 10 years. Argued that they an assault case, at best. After awaiting trial for months, they finally made an offer of time served on a misdemeanor assault.

2) Client facing felony DWI w/ Child Passenger. Looked good on video and PC for the stop was only speeding. Client is on parole and couldn't take a felony. I had been asking the state to offer a misdemeanor but they were adamant about going to trial on the felony. Sure enough, I got a call on Friday, with their feet to the fire, that the state was offering a class B misdemeanor.

My favorite moment of the day? Seeing my client's excitement when she said that she would now be able to be home for her granddaughter's birth!

Client that was facing 25-Life today on an Arson case had his case dismissed by a very reasonable prosecutor. As I told my client through the process, “Their case is sh*tty. Please put your trust in me.” Don’t plead out if you shouldn’t! Call me if you are facing any criminal allegations!

The fist bump when I told him the outcome made my day!

As a side note, another client was offered a Decision Making Class for a dismissal. My client turned it down. We are now still scheduled for trial.

If the client wants to take his case to trial, even though client was offered a class for a dismissal, I respect their decision to maintain innocence and will stand and defend said innocence.

Love getting reviews like this from clients!!

Political leanings aside, everyone should watch this. Our 9/11 responders should be taken care of forever. The fact that this has to be advocated is beyond comprehension.

A great way to start the weekend? Getting an email from a Harris County prosecutor and a phone call from a Fort Bend prosecutor letting me know that my DWI trials with each of them are being dismissed! This is why you set cases for trial! Props to them for letting me know in advance so I can now enjoy my weekend. Happy Friday y’all!! Be safe out there this weekend all you Cinco de Houston Rockets fans!

Today, my client gets his freedom back. He was wrongfully accused of Assault of a Family Member - Impeding Breathing (Choking). This man in his 50's, who had never previously been charged with an offense, worked with me to put together a grand jury packet that included his statement, affidavits of those that best knew the couple, as well as letters sent from the complainant to my client after the charges were filed, which showed her true self. The grand jury returned a No Bill for my client.

For those that may not know, in Texas, if a grand jury decides to indict, it is called a "True Bill" and if not, it is called a "No Bill."

The prosecutor graciously texted me after the grand jury made their decision and I immediately called the client as I was thrilled to apprise him of the news. Simultaneously, while goosebumps ran throughout my arms, I heard my client sobbing with tears of joy and relief. As someone who had previously never had to experience the criminal justice system, he commented, and I agreed, that the grand jury's decision restored some faith in said system.

My client had gone into a mini depression after the charges were filed against him. Not only was his 3 year relationship over, but he was facing a 3rd degree felony for a crime he didn't commit.

In a week where su***de has covered the front pages of the headlines, I thought it was an appropriate time to share this story.

I'm pleased to announce the opening of my law firm, The Law Office of Neil A. Krugh. While I have been officing with Mo Ghuneim and Jeanie Dickey for the past two years, and entirely grateful to both of them for allowing me to be a part of their team, I have decided to "formally" open my own law firm.

In May 2017, my dad was diagnosed with a form of Muscular Dystrophy called Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy. It is literally a crippling disease but the good news is that it will not progress any further with him.

As a part of the launch of my firm, I am holding a raffle for 2 tickets to the greatest showman on Earth, Justin Timberlake. These are 2 tickets to see JT on May 23rd in section 115 ($600). I am selling raffle tickets, which, if you respond to this post, I will take your name down and issue you a raffle ticket to be entered into a drawing. Tickets are $25 each or 5 for $100. All proceeds will go towards the FSH Society.

Please like and share this post.

If you are interested in joining the raffle, please let me know. I will take your name down and put it on a raffle ticket and respond to you with the proof. Let's raise some money for FSH!!! There's a 50% chance I also have this gene so the more money raised, the better!!!!!!

It's Justin Timberlake, fools!!!
